The permanent art collection of Kids Art Museum began in 2004 when Sofia Matrosova Khalil was working as Vice Director, Curriculum Coordinator and Master Art Teacher at Bright Minds Child Development Center in San Jose, CA (2004-2010). The curriculum of Bright Minds was based on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences and use of Fine Arts and a tool of development of attention in young children (Sofia’s MAED research, University of Phoenix’09). 

Fine arts were interlaced in the daily curriculum and children’s activities at Bright Minds. The children worked on group and individual art projects. The group projects became the foundation of the art collection. Kids Art Museum was born on February 17, 2007 when the 1-st art exhibition of the students was unveiled at Bright Minds. At that time the collection of children’s artwork started and is continued till today. As of today the collection consist of 137 large pieces of children’s artwork ready for KAM permanent exhibition.
