I have a dream “To open a Museum of Kids Art.”

I have been an artist from the age of 3.

I have been an Art Educator for the past 25 years.

I love art and I love teaching art to children.

Art is fun and helps to develop creativity in children.

I have a dream to open a Museum of Kids Art, where creativity sparks and grows.

Will you help me to make this dream come true?

An Artist, Art Educator, Director/Founder KAM

What We Need & What You Get

The collection of 137 large pieces of original artwork of children is ready for the permanent exhibition. We need capital for:

As a startup nonprofit organization Kids Art Museum of Monterey County, CA has identified a goal to obtain the capital for the development of Kids Art Museum.

The plan is to lease a building in the city of Monterey to permanently exhibit the large collection of children’s original artwork and to open the first exhibition in Summer 2015.

The website of the museum is already developed.

The art education curriculum is prepared.

The lectures/discussions on various topics of art education are planned.

The publication of the longitudinal research on Creativity Development in Young
Children is planned to be implemented in 2015.

The funds are also needed for the purchase of computers, photo and Giggle equipment for printing limited editions of the artwork with the purpose of sale as means of revenue creation for the development of the museum. In addition funds will be used for printing and office supplies, fixtures for mounting the artwork and lighting, and art supplies. The personnel cost are also included into the projected budget.

The admission to the museum is FREE. To support the operations of Kids Art Museum, the Art Gallery, Paint a Picture Store and art lessons will be conducted within the museum. The proceeds from the sales of the limited editions artwork will be used for creation of new educational programs and support of the business operations of the museum. The Museum will be open to the local schools for field trips and participation in art education activities at schools sites. Moreover, the educational programs created at Kids Art Museum can be used by teachers of local schools to supplement art education programs and use of art across curriculum.

You will get FREE Kids Art Museum admission and your name will be permanently exhibited in the Donors List of KAM.

The Impact

To fulfill the deficiency of scarce arts education in Monterey County, the Kids
Art Museum (KAM) was purposely created in April 25, 2012 (entity #3478651) as a nonprofit art education facility To Promote Art Education Among all Children. The admission to the museum is FREE.

The curriculum of KAM is based on the Visual and Performing Arts Content Standards for California public schools grades PreK-12 with the specific emphasis of art education for the underserved student population of Pre-Kindergarten, elementary and middle school age students.

In Monterey County the Art Education programs are implemented in 43 schools, where 4 are elementary, 6 are middle schools, and 27 are high schools out of the
total number of 134 schools in Monterey County. Many of the schools in Monterey
County are underperforming schools, according to the API report (http://dq.cde.ca.gov/dataquest).

Among the 14 museums in Monterey County there is 1 Art Museum and 1 Youth Museum (play/exploration based). There is no Art Museum dedicated to children’s art and creativity. Kids Art Museum is purposely created to fulfill the deficiency of Art Education in Monterey County.

The establishment of Kids Art Museum in Monterey County will enrich county’s efforts in development and offerings of educational activities to the residents and visitors alike.
